One of the easiest trades is spotting a keen horse in a short race.
The keener it is, the more the market pushes the price up. You do have to be careful when the horse settles, though. It could simply mean the horse is feeling great and wants to go faster, so it’s fighting the jockey when the jockey tries to restrain it. You can even sometimes hear the commentator say, “Not settling at all.” And a few seconds later, you don’t care what happens next—you’re out with a nice +£75.
